Drowning First Aid Tips

Do not go into the water directly for rescue

When drowning occurs, people on the shore should not go into the water directly.

The best way to rescue is to throw a lifebuoy or a long pole tied with a rope.

When the drowning person is not far from the shore and is still struggling, the best way to rescue is to throw a lifebuoy with a rope.

If there is no lifebuoy at the scene, tie an object that can support the drowning person to float on the water.

If it is far from the shore, it is best to row or drive a boat to rescue.

How to rescue a drowning person correctly

Drag the head, neck and upper back of the injured person into a straight line and try not to move, and keep the face up and out of the water.

If the drowning person is not breathing well, artificial respiration should be started even if he is still in the water.

First aid must be handled by the injured cervical spine to prevent the injured from becoming a vegetable.

It is best for people to learn CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) skills.
