There are two types of liver cancer: primary and secondary. Secondary liver cancer is caused by tumors in other organs that invade the liver through blood, lymph or directly. Primary liver cancer have three different types: hepatocellular type, cholangiocellular type and mixed type, of which the vast majority are hepatocellular type.
