What is breast cancer

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor of the breast

Most of them originate from the epithelial group of the breast, and a few can originate from various non-epithelial tissues and sarcomas of the breast.

The incidence of breast cancer is high, with an incidence rate of 23/100,000 in the population. It accounts for 7-10% of all malignant tumors in the body.

What are the causes of breast cancer

The cause of breast cancer is still not fully understood. Estrogen before and after menopause is an obvious factor that stimulates the occurrence of breast cancer.

In addition, genetic factors, dietary factors, external physical and chemical factors, and certain benign breast diseases have a certain relationship with the occurrence of breast cancer.

Hormone secretion disorder causes breast cancer

This mainly refers to estrogen secretion disorder. Because the high-risk age for breast cancer is women aged 40 to 60. This age group is the period when women’s estrogen secretion is dysregulated and estrogen levels are high.

Due to the increase in estrogen secretion in the body, this can cause excessive proliferation of mammary duct epithelial cells and cause cancer.

Breastfeeding decrease the risk of breast cancer

In recent years, a large number of surveys have shown that women who have not given birth or have given birth but rarely breastfeed are more likely to develop breast cancer than women who have breastfed many times or for a long time. This shows that having more children and breastfeeding may increase the chance of developing breast cancer.

Fibrocystic breast disease

It is a precancerous lesion that can easily turn into breast cancer.

Hereditary breast cancer

It is mainly manifested in a family history of breast cancer, which can be manifested in two forms: one is that the mother has breast cancer and her daughter is also prone to breast cancer. This type of breast cancer mostly occurs before menopause and is often bilateral;

The other is that the mother has never had breast cancer, but in a family, at least two sisters have breast cancer. The incidence of breast cancer in this family is 2 to 3 times higher than that in a family without a family history of breast cancer. This type of breast cancer mostly occurs after menopause and is often unilateral.
